“Kind hearts are the gardens, Kind thoughts are the roots, Kind words are the flowers, Kind deeds are the fruits, Take care of your garden And keep out the weeds, Fill it with sunshine, Kind words, and Kind deeds.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Kindness isn’t something that just happens. A kind heart must be cultivated, nourished, and watered. Ask the Lord to give you a kind heart, to make you truly desire to be kind. Once you have the desire to be loving you will begin to think loving and kind thoughts. If your thoughts are kind your words will be kind as well. “She speaks from that which fills her heart.” And if you can gain a heart, mind, and voice filled with kindness your actions will surely follow. So today cultivate kindness in your life. You will not regret it.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” -Colossians 3:12
