2 Week Prayer Journey

Welcome to our 14 day prayer journey for preparing to be a future wife! This journey will be so fun and beautiful. Christy, Sarah, Anna, and I (Lisa) want to encourage and pray for you while you are on your own personal journey as a Christian girl or woman on your way to your future life as a godly wife…

We ask that if you choose to join this journey, that you as the reader will follow these 5 steps while doing this prayer journey for the next 2 weeks:

Step 1.There are 14 payers for you to pray for your future as a wife for 14 days.

Step 2.We want you as the reader, to read it,

Step 3.Pray it, and

Step 4. Write/or pray it in your own words.

Step 5. Save them in a special box for after you are married and need to be reminded of what you envisioned for your future as a wife.

It’s good to be in prayer for our character development and transition into marriage. I don’t know if you or I are called to be single all of our lives, but I feel that this is a thing that I should be in prayer about. Recently, we did a 2 week journey called “Prayers for our Future Husbands” it seemed only fitting that we pray for ourselves as future wives as well. A young woman commented on the page and suggested that we also pray those prayers for ourselves as future wives as well, which actually sparked the idea for this journey!

We do not pray selfishly for ourselves during the next 2 weeks, but with a godly mindset, asking fervently for help from God to become the women he designed us to be, praying to become the help-meets that He has in mind for our future beloveds. After the 14 day prayer journey, we do not need to stop praying for our lives as future wives; we can continue every day, asking God to help us become the women that our future husbands need by their sides.
We are so excited to get started! We hope to see you join us. Thank you for your support and love. God bless!

Let's Get Started!

Prayers for Becoming a Future Wife

Prayers for Becoming a Future Wife

Day 1

Dear Lord, I know that I am your daughter. You are the prefect Father and I could not ask for a better protector! I know that you have picked out the man that you want me to marry. You know his name, what he looks like, how he acts, his personality, his past and future flaws, and you are saving me for him. I know he will not be perfect and I know that I am not perfect. But I know that you are molding me into the kind of woman that my future husband needs.

Lord, I ask that you build in me the kind of characteristics that will support my husband and his ambitions and dreams. Help me to learn how to come alongside of him with a servants heart and with wisdom in how to be his right hand. I want to encourage bless, serve and obey my future husband in all matters. Please prepare me and equip me for this task while I am not yet married Jesus.

Thank you for training me Lord. Help me to accept any change that might take place while you are creating me to be a future Help-Meet. I love you Lord, Amen.

Day 2

Dear Lord, help me to cultivate an attitude of humility in my life. Don’t let me ever fall into a mindset of entitlement. Please help everything I do to flow from a heart of gratitude. I ask that you would show me how to put my future husband first.

Help me to be free from selfishness in all the relationships in my life, but especially in my future marriage. Show me how to live with a love like you have. Help me to prepare to purposefully search out ways to show my husband your sacrificial love. Amen.

Prayers for Becoming a Future Wife

Day 3

Dear God, help me to put my trust in you and wait for you to bring my future husband to me in your perfect timing. Help me not to be anxious or worried about when that time will be but to rest and wait on you. Thank you that you have had this man picked out for me before I was even born. Thank you for making him for me.

Keep my heart pure and safe in your care so that I will be ready to marry him whenever you choose to bring him along. I love you Jesus. Thank you. Amen

Day 4

Dear God, thank you so much for everything you’ve provided. Thank you for my family and friends who have all been so supportive over the years. Thank you for my parents’ (and future parents-in-laws’) wisdom and teaching.

I ask that you will build on this foundation of wisdom for generations to come. Please give me wisdom in (together with my future husband) establishing our house.

Please grant me discernment and understanding for the many opportunities and challenges ahead. Please help me to teach my children wisdom, not only through my words, but also through my actions.Thank you so much for promising to give us wisdom when we seek it. Amen.

Prayers for Becoming a Future Wife

Day 5

Lord Jesus, sometimes I feel so inadequate and unready to be a bride. I think of marriage as a vast and distant lifestyle that I’ve never before trod. I am scared of what might or might not happen. Give me faith Jesus. Help me to trust that you will work all things together for good. While I am single and waiting please train and prepare me for the challenges ahead. Help me to learn in Wisdom and Love. Give me the strength that my husband will need from me.

I know that marriage is a beautiful covenant between my future husband and You and I. Please show me areas in which I can grow before I am married. Help me to learn submission and honor, humility and grace, respect and admiration, love and selflessness. Gift me with the amount of time needed to learn each of these qualities so that I will be ready to bless my future beloved.

Thank you for your patient training Jesus. Thank you for the opportunity to fall in love with the man you have chosen to be my husband. Bless our future together as man and wife. I love you Lord! Amen.

Day 6

Lord, please teach me to be an encourager. Let me always build up others and never tear them down. Give me a desire to encourage my husband. Give me words of wisdom and peace to build him up with. Help me to encourage his dreams and plans.

Let us work as a team to build great things for your kingdom. Teach me not to fall into the pattern of criticism or negativity. Help my word to draw my future husband closer to you. Help me to encourage him to walk in Your ways in all things. Amen!

Prayers for Becoming a Future Wife

Day 7

Dear Jesus, please help me to be prepared to go with my future husband and to follow without worry or questioning to wherever you may lead him and whatever you may have him to do.

Whether he’s a rancher, a pastor, a soldier, a missionary or anything else you choose for him to do, please prepare me to be a godly help-meet for him so that I can and encourage, and bless him as he follows wherever you may lead him. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

Day 8

Dear God, I pray that you will give me patience and an attitude of grace. Please help me overlook offenses and respond graciously to conflict. Please help me to develop this pattern now rather than later. When others are bothering me, when situations are bothering me, and when I am even bothering myself, please remind me to take it all to you. Please remind me to talk with you first before confronting things.

Grant me discernment and understanding for the situations I don’t know how to confront. Thank you so much for the grace you’ve shown me, and for being the perfect model of forgiveness and love. Please help me to keep my focus always on you. Amen.

Day 9

Dear Lord, I want to unconditionally love my husband, with a full heart! I want to be his best friend, his helpful assistant, his endearing wife, and his adoring fan. I wish that everyday would be like spending a day in heaven on earth. I wish the honeymoon would last till we were old and frail. And I wish that our love for one another would not age and shrivel as our bodies do, but that it would stay young and passionate.

But Lord, I know that these are only wishes. I know that in marriage, just as in life, there will be struggles to face, battles to overcome, and tests that will need to be passed. I pray that you would strengthen my faith while I am young, Jesus. Equip me with the armor needed to go to battle and to have victory! Bless me with patience and endurance, Lord. I know that you will be by my side no matter what. When a trial comes to disrupt our marriage I pray that you would give me the understanding and wisdom that it will take to bear through it.

Thank you for teaching me Lord. Give me a spirit of humility and teach-ability as I prepare for a lifelong relationship with the husband you have chosen for me. I love you Lord! Amen.

Day 10

Lord Jesus, I want to be a Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 homemaker for my future husband. I want him to be able to walk in the door of our little home after a hard day of work and be blessed and comforted by the simple pleasures that come from me being a keeper of the home!

Help me to learn how to budget our money wisely, to cook and clean well, to teach our children and bring them up in the ways of the Lord, to garden, to bake, to manage the household and support my husband and his business. Help me to learn and practice these things at home, before I am married, so that I am prepared to bless and serve my husband after my wedding. Thank you for your word and scriptures that lovingly guide me in the ways to be a good help-meet. Amen.

Day 11

Father, please help me to start developing healthy habits in every area of my life. Help me to physically develop good eating, exercising, and grooming habits. Teach me how to create time habits that will carry over to help my future husband. Help me to work when I should work, but also generate good habits of rest and recreation.

Let me devote constant time to prayer and Bible study so that I can grow in your grace. Show me the areas of my life that lack self-control, and then purge them from me. Let any bad habits or selfish lifestyle patterns be removed from me.

Help me to learn how to help my future husband order our whole life to meet your priorities and not the priorities of the world. Let me exhibit moderation and self control in every area of my life so that I can best serve you and help my husband. Amen!

Day 12

Lord Jesus, when I say “I do,” at my wedding I know that I am committing to a life of reverence and respect for my husband. Help me to recognize my husband as the leading role model in my life. Help me choose words that will only encourage him and enrich him in his walk with you, Lord.

Help me not feel that I will be leading an independent lifestyle after I am married but that I am to come under and a long side the leadership that you have given my husband as the head of our family. Help me to love and honor him, Jesus. I pray that we would always find time together as a couple, to read and pray. Let us be grounded in your Word as a married couple ought.

Thank you for giving us a model of the marriage union in your Word that we can follow and strive to exemplify. I love you, Lord! Amen.

Day 13

Dear Jesus, please help me to love my future husband my whole life long unselfishly and unconditionally. May I honor and respect, bless and encourage him, and be in love only with him. May he always be my prince and my hero in my eyes.

Please help our marriage to be strong and for both of us to stay focused on worshiping and loving you. Even when things get hard or difficult in life please don’t let me ever give up on my marriage to him but to see it through and trust you. I love you Jesus. Amen.

Day 14

Lord Jesus, I pray that you would bless my future marriage with strength. Make us strong against the popular culture that has consumed the 21st century. Help my husband and I to be strong enough to say “no” to the world and “yes” to eternity in heaven with You! I pray that You would bless us with a wild love for one another so that we could face the world together.

Help us be a model of the Ephesians 5 marriage. Help us be good examples to our children so that they might want to do the same in their marriage and carry on the torch of un-defiled marriage union into the future generation. Let us love you and no other, Jesus.

I pray that as a future wife, I would have a desire to love you more than anyone, Lord. Ground me in Your Word of Truth and help me to fix my eyes on you. Give me a pure heart, a devoted mind, and a quiet soul. Teach me how to honor and submit to my husband in all areas of life. Thank you, Jesus! I love you. Amen.

    What powerful prayers! Thk u!

  • Thank you. I believe in him only and through his Grace it is well. Im going to start praying today

Hi Ladies Thank you it truly humbles me to find young women that are devoting their lives in prayer. I am in the process of settling down and God has led me to my “future husband” we will soon start the processes involved. for the 40 day lent period we have both decided to fast and pray for ourselves, our relationship and our dreams. Please keep us in your prayers ladies. My message to the younger ladies is “Do not be afraid to wait, do not be afraid to follow God’s inner voice earlier on in life when he tries to tell you YOU WILL KNOW WHEN YOU ARE READY!!” This is from my own experience, the world judges those who want or see the need to wait, and I have lost count of the names I was labelled with because of that decision. I almost gave in and walked away from what I knew was my dream and hope. 31 years later GOD ANSWERS ME AND SAYS MY CHILD NOW YOU ARE READY. What humbles me is HE REMEMBERED MY ORIGINAL DREAM AND MY GOAL AND MY WISH AND MY HUMBLE PLEA. I walk into my new life with Hope and Strong in Faith I know that I will be “Thee wife God wants me to be, and certainly the best mother there is to my children” simply because IT IS ALL IN GOD’S TIME and it is HAPPENING AS PER THE MASTER PLAN.

This has been one of the most amazing reads! I am 25 and ever since I was 16 I have been praying about my husband (not yet met him yet) but I believe as the woman God has created for him, it is my responsibility to pray for him now even though we have never met. My friends used to think I was about ‘weird’ and ‘fast’ but I knew confessing things into the atmosphere and creating that Heavenly foundation in which we will build a generation together.

God will continue to grant you great wisdom and encourage you during this your ministry. God Bless

This has been such an awesome read! I’ve been praying for my husband since I was 15 years old (I’m 30 now) on and off but have been consistently praying for him for the past year and a half and it has been what feels like the LONGEST wait in my entire life lol! Every guy I have attempted to date the Lord has literally run off every single last one of them and has hidden me so well no one has approached me. It took me awhile to be come to terms with His timing and to truly be content right where I am as a single woman and to trust that the Lord would bring my husband when we are both ready. The Lord recently told me (through my pastor) that not only is my husband coming this year but that we’re getting married this year!!!!! I’ve been given specific instructions to prepare for his coming and have been doing just that through the prayers I’ve prayed for us as husband and wife, and although God hasn’t made that presentation yet I AM SUPER EXCITED!!!! As I pray and continue to wait on the Lord my faith in Him has grown even stronger. I can’t wait to see the answer to my prayer and His promise to me fulfilled!! I’ve added these prayers in to help me prepare to be the help meet my husband is believing God for. God bless!!!

    Wonderful… Thank you 🙂

These prayer posts are brilliant!!! We should make sure that we all place YHWH (Our God) and his kingdom first and all things will be added to us.
I would also like to add that Jesus (Yahshua) is coming soon, we are in the 11th hour, while I’m getting ready to make sure I strive to be part of the bride/5 wise virgins, I’m also praying in this short hour for my earthly husband too. God bless you ladies and men, may your prayers be granted and may you continue to strive down the narrow path, we are on borrowed time. REV 3.11

  • I am single and not dating but have been praying for my husband for years. Please note: praying for MY husband and not praying for A husband. There is a difference. This 14 day devotional reminded me of old prayers and definitely provoked thought for new issues I hadn’t thought about. Thank you for this. I know God is faithful and I trust Him with my whole heart.

  • Tinker Belle

I just started reading the prayers for my future husband and it is amazing thank you for this 🙂

    • Irma Elizabeth

I am a little older than you, and I agree with you 100%. Give it up to God. When I was younger in my 20s, I made the mistake of trying too hard to be with someone who did not even cherish me. I repeated this mistake twice. Now, I am giving it up to my Holy Father for him to direct and guide me. Our lives are in His Magnificent hands. God Bless.

  • May Mudany

This has been an amazing journey! Thank you so much for this prayer journey. I feel so close to my husband even never having met him. This is a great start to what is to come. Probably one of the greatest gifts I could give to him before we get married is to keep him constantly in prayer. I wish there was a sequel to this like the “Prayers for my future husband.” Thank you ladies for your inspiring messages. God bless you all.

Thanks so much for your ministry. You set an extraordinary example for young women to follow. I have been using your 14 days of prayer model and look forward to seeing more prayers like this 🙂 Always support you and blessings!

  • Irma Elizabeth
