When You are Feeling Guilty
“I don’t know whats wrong with me.” “I feel so bad about it that I can’t tell anyone.” “Why did I have to do that?” “I feel like such a wicked person.”
All of these statements and more have been felt and said by everyone. We all have messed up, said and done things we wish we hadn’t. Sweet girl, I want to help you if you feel this way! I know how it feels to feel condemned and angry at yourself. I’ve been down that road so many times. But listen! Everyone has their problems. You are loved. You are not alone. Besides, it’s never too late to change or be brand new!
People feel bad about their actions all the time. I remember sinning so bad at one point in my life that I thought I could’t be the same as I was before. I could never go back. I felt dark and wicked in my heart. I felt far from the love of the Lord. The world was caving in over me and I felt the shadows creeping into my soul. I know how you feel. But darling, it’s only a passing stage in life. I know that that can be hard to hear right now, but trust me, The Lord can pull you through anything!
Stop blaming yourself, that only makes you focus more on yourself and the problem. The cure is to get your eyes off of yourself and to look to Jesus. The world lets us down, relationships let us down, people, places, jobs, and things of this world let us down; but Jesus is perfect in every sense. He will be there when all else fails. When everything is crashing down around you and you feel like giving up, you see Jesus; Bright, Luminous, Strong and Mighty in Glorious Splendor waiting for you to run into His Sovereign arms. In His eyes you are innocent, you are precious and beautiful. He can’t help but love you! He want’s to protect you like a big brother or like a Father.
So don’t hesitate to turn to Him in your time of need. You can bring all your troubles to Him without feeling condemned or hopeless.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1 You are His! You belong to Him. You were bought with His precious blood and Jesus want’s only the best for you. He knew you would sin again after you became a Christian, He knew you would break His commandments, yet He want’s to be near you. He wants to love you and pamper you and bring Himself glory through your actions. That’s right, through your actions you bring Jesus glory! Good or bad, right or wrong, triumphs or failures you still bring Him glory. For when you are “weak, He is strong”.
When you sin and repent, that becomes your testimony! Testimonies are one of the greatest ways that God is glorified. Now is the perfect time to Glorify God; through your weakness. Turn this failure into a testimony.
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:7-10
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” Psalms 51:10-12
Cry out to the Lord and listen for his reassuring gentle voice. His Grace is sufficient for you! We love you girl, God bless and much love!
